UL vs ETL

Monday, April 01, 2013
Much has been made of complete unit testing and certification by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). All AquaMaster fountains, aerators, and accessories have been full unit tested and certified by UL for over 20 years.

The Superior Choice

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is the undisputed leader in U.S. product safety, performance and certification, setting a benchmark by which all other organizations in the field may be measured. UL certification takes time, it’s expensive, and there is a very comprehensive follow-up program to ensure that products made after certification continues the consistency of manufacture of the initial certification.

We Care About Our Customers

ETL on the other hand, is considered within the test and measurement community to be less rigorous in both certification and follow-up of the products that they evaluate (this according to ETC Connect). They are also less expensive.

Which certification do you think is more recognizable by your customers? Regulators are seven times more likely to immediately accept the UL Mark without further steps or information. UL is by far the leader in safety standards compliance matters among US regulatory authorities, retailers, buyers and consumers. (These facts were from Consumer and AHJ Brand Value Studies by Synovate and Blackstone Group.)

It’s obvious, AquaMaster® fountains, aerators, lighting and control panels are your best safety choice. They are also your best choice for performance, quality, warranty, and serviceability. In fact, we’re the best people to have on your team.
